3/19/12 – Meru Networks announced a set of new Meru WLAN solutions that can be deployed on-premise, within virtualized private cloud environments, or as subscription-based, hosted applications.  Meru’s new line of Virtual Mobility Controllers are VMware-based virtual appliances that operate on standard x86 computing platforms in data center or private cloud environments.

Meru also introduced the AP110 access point, a new low-cost wireless and wired access solution for branch offices, telecommuters and mobile or traveling individuals.  The Meru AP110 enables simple, secure, virtualized Wi-Fi access to corporate networks, applications and resources and eliminates the need for costly VPN infrastructure.  The Meru AP110 reduces costs, provides broader connectivity options and gives IT simple control of network access and services for remote users.

1/12/12 – Meru introduced the OAP380, which has Quad 802.a11a/b/g/n radios and a rugged design, to replace the OAP180.

11/8/11 – Meru introduced two new controllers– the MC3200 & MC4200. Both are built from the ground up to support the demands of next generation 802.11n networks by providing greater scale, performance and throughput when compared to like solutions offered by other vendors.

10/10/11 – Meru acquired Identity Networks, provider of a complete secure guest access and device access management solution. Through this acquistion, Meru customers can now easily provide secure, policy based, wired and wireless network access for guests and employees that bring their own devices into the enterprise. 9/7/11 – Meru announced upgrades to the Meru E(z)RF Network Management Suite and introduced the new SA2000 Network Management Appliance. E(z)RF Network Manager 2.3 now scales to support hundreds of WLAN controllers and thousands of access points.
