Site Surveys & Documentation

Carolina Advanced Digital offers professional vendor-neutral site surveys to evaluate your current network environment. We send certified networking engineers on site to perform a walk-thru of all or part of your infrastructure and identify present equipment, connections and determine capability. Depending on the depth of information desired, a site survey might also include Network Documentation, using CAD’s exclusive vendor-neutral Route Concept Diagrams and custom-developed Network Checklists.

A site survey may be requested as an a-la-carte service, but is normally provided in conjunction with, or as part of, a complete Network Design solution. Customers often request a site survey in lieu of a consulting session to get more detailed information from an engineer about their specific infrastructure.

Pricing for a site survey follows our on site networking rates, with a half-day minimum. If performed as part of a Network Design solution, the Site Survey cost may be included as part of a pre-determined project price.

Documentation

If the documentation is part of our Network Design Solution, then this item should be much farther up the page; for those customers, the documentation is completed in advance of the actual implementation.

In other cases, customers sometimes find they don’t really know what is already in their existing infrastructure. A technician might have thrown in a switch here to fix that problem the director had four months back… or the last network drawing ignored a few pieces of unidentified equipment in the back of closet… or perhaps there was an entire network closet that was missed?

It’s important to know what’s in your network to fully understand the capabilities and limitations you’re currently working with. You need an accurate network drawing before any upgrades, additions, WAN changes, VoIP implementations and backup implementations.

Carolina Advanced Digital provides several levels of Network Documentation, in conjunction with our Network Survey services.

Customers are provided with several documentation pieces, including:

Network Design Solutions

Carolina Advanced Digital has built a reputation on our network design services. For decades, we have provided complete Network Design Solutions to customers in commercial, government and education markets. The need for a solid, secure network is universal.

With our Network Design Solutions, customers generally choose to use CAD for both the hardware purchase and the Design Services; it’s generally easier and more cost-effective. We do also provide services and products separately, should your needs be better met that way.

Network Upgrades and Changeovers

Network Design Solutions often encompass an entire project as part of an upgrade and/or vendor changeover. Using our exclusive Route Concept Diagram and custom-developed Network Checklists, network changes can be implemented with virtually no impact on productivity for a painless upgrade or changeover.

Our system is meticulous; we do all the preparation and documentation before a switch is ever touched. On the cutover date, command scripts have been automatically generated from our network drawings and the documentation and drawings are already completed. We have never, in over 20 years, experienced a failed cutover.

Implementation, Installation & Configuration

Carolina Advanced Digital provides network implementation, installation and configuration services for HP Networking products. For customers involved in a complete Network Design Solution with CAD, the implementation portion is included in the project if requested.

For customers needing assistance with equipment they already have, CAD provides these services by certified networking engineers at an hourly or project-based flat fee.
